About Us
Our partner group has a wide variety of experience, including over 30 years cumulative experience at ‘Big 4′ accounting firms, many years of experience running their own practices, and intensive training and experience in their individual areas of expertise. The partners have consistently been, and continue to be, involved in professional organizations and in the community. Partners have served on boards of directors, as CFOs, and as advisors to business at many levels. We have a past president of the Utah Association of CPAs and members of committees of the UACPA and the AICPA, as well as other business organizations. All the partners are very involved in community service organizations and service to their churches. Several of the partners are heavily involved in youth programs – particularly the Boy Scouts of America.
Child, Van Wagoner & Bradshaw, PLLC (CVB), was officially formed with an effective date of January 1, 2006, as a result of the merger of four accounting firms. However, most of the partners of CVB contracted with each other and worked together beginning five or six years before that date so CVB has existed operationally for a longer period of time.
The firms brought together in the merger were:
Child, Sullivan & Company (with Doug Child and Scott Farnes)
Smith and Company (with Bill Denney)
Bradshaw & Company (with Russ Bradshaw)
Marty D. Van Wagoner, CPA
Marty began working with Doug and, shortly thereafter, they started working with Bill providing concurring review and contract audit services to one another. The primary focus of the combination of firms was SEC audit work. Doug and Scott were also serving a large number of subsidized housing entities acquired in a previous merger – particularly HUD and Housing Authorities. Doug, Scott and Bill were also providing tax services. As those partners were in discussions related to a formal merger, Russ Bradshaw was brought into the mix with his practice dedicated solely to tax services, which was very beneficial in uniting and solidifying the various tax practices of the different firms. About this time, Russ Anderson was providing contract audit services. He was hired as a senior manager when CVB became effective, and became a partner one year later. His incredible technical expertise was a perfect addition to the partner group.
The experience and expertise of CVB’s partner group is deep and vast. With around 30 years combined ‘Big 4′ experience, experience running their own firms, and other technical and leadership experience, the partners are very well qualified to provide superior client service and to guide CVB into an exciting future.
