Areas of Expertise / Specialization: Doug is a member of Child, Van Wagoner & Bradshaw’s audit department as well as the tax department. His expertise is in compliance audits — primarily SEC and small private company audits, along with HUD issuers, corporate, partnership taxation and real estate. He is licensed in 12 states.

Short background of pertinent work experience: After graduating from Utah State University in 1984, Doug worked for nine years in the Salt Lake office of Ernst & Young, starting as an audit associate. After five years of auditing SEC registrants and high-tech and manufacturing concerns, he transferred to the small business tax department, where he remained for another four-and-a-half years. Doug then left Ernst & Young and started a partnership with a local CPA firm in Kaysville. When he acquired a part of that practice, he moved his office to Salt Lake, where he practiced as a sole proprietor until joining with Marty Van Wagoner and other partners in 2006.

Outside hobbies and interests: Doug loves to hunt and fish, water-ski, wakeboard, and enjoys being outdoors.
